CALL FOR PAPERS

The International e-Conference on the Future of Law and Legal Practice 2021 ("ICFLP 2021") is the second iteration of Taylor's Law School's signature conference, which aims to examine legal developments in Malaysia, the Southeast Asian region, and abroad.

ICFLP 2021, with the theme - Law and Legal Practice in the Post Pandemic Era: Opportunities, Solutions and Innovations - provides a platform for legal practitioners, scholars, regulators, and academicians to explore issues and developments relating to the law on national, regional, and/or international levels.

The theme of ICFLP 2021 thus highlights the range of regulatory and public responses around the world, which has, in turn, impacted significantly on the nature of law, legal practice, and the teaching and learning of law

The ICFLP 2021 aims to provide participants and paper presenters with the opportunity to provide insights and be engaged in reflective discussion in the following streams:

Private Law:

Submissions are welcome on issues and perspectives in the field of private law subjects such as Contract, Tort, Unjust Enrichment, Equity and Trusts, Corporate and Commercial Law, Competition Law, Banking and Finance Law, Intellectual Property, family law, and various other related areas of law.

Healthcare and Medical Law:

Submissions are welcome on topics examining areas within the contemporary healthcare environment, laws relevant to the regulation of healthcare provision, the aged and other vulnerable communities, ethical issues, the public-private divide in the provision of healthcare, and related areas of law.

Public Law:

Submissions are welcome on matters relating to constitutional law and principles, governmental and regulatory powers, emergency powers and issues of scrutiny, administrative law, criminal offences, refugee rights, protection of migrant workers, the law of ASEAN, and international human rights.

Legal Education:

Submissions are welcome on topics aimed at improving the delivery of legal education, including techniques to enhance teaching, learning, and research in law. Papers examining the impact of the recent global pandemic on methods of teaching, learning, and research are particularly welcome.

Submissions which do not fall within one or more of the broad streams above can be considered for inclusion in a miscellaneous panel.

The organizers welcome submission of abstracts by either individual presenters or as a pre-arranged panel, which must consist of between 3-5 presenters.
